Open Access Policy

Since 2008 Landscape Online is listed in the The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) that covers open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content. The journal has been awarded the DOAJ Seal for best practice in open access publishing. Journals that adhere to an exceptionally high level of publishing standards and best practice are awarded the Seal as recognition of those efforts. There are seven criteria which a journal must meet to be eligible for the DOAJ Seal. These relate to best practice in long term preservation, use of persistent identifiers, discoverability, reuse policies and authors' rights.

Landscape Online agrees upon the Berlin declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge and grant all users "a free, irrevocable, worldwide, right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship [...], as well as the right to make small numbers of printed copies for their personal use." (The Berlin declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge of 22 October 2003)
